Now I'm nowhere near ready to do an Ironman (I just started running and swimming this year!) but I loved this response by pro triathlete Hillary Biscay to the interview question, "What do you recommend to those who are planning to run their first Ironman?" (scroll down for the English version):
“Enjoy the process! The day is not worth it unless you can truly enjoy the process of the long training days—of transforming yourself into an endurance machine. This in itself must be the biggest reward, and then race day is just a celebration of your new self”.
I already feel that way in my first year of the sport, and can't wait to see even more progress.
Hi Jennifer,
It must be such a great feeling to be able to cross that line and say "I did it... I am an ironman".
I alos just picked up the sport last year in an attempt to lose some weight before my wedding, and I am completely hooked.
I will stop by and read some more every once in a while, and please do come by my blog if you have a chance.

Take care and good luck with everything.
