I was just looking at the numbers for my first month of "real" training compared to all of last year. Wow. Last year was my first year in triathlon; I'd started training (if you could really call it that) in mid-January.
2010
- Swim: 58 mi (102,080 yds)
- Bike: 981 mi
- Run: 484 mi
January 2011... starting to lay a great base:
- Swim 13 mi (22,300 yds)
- Bike: 299 mi (wow, 30% of last year's total!)
- Run: 23 mi... behind the curve due to rehab, but things are progressing!
Today was a much-needed rest day, and this week's theme is recovery. Looking forward to seeing what February brings! I like getting the training schedule in small bite-sized chunks. If coach told me what kind of volume I'll probably be doing in April/May I'd probably freak out :-).
